COLD WEATHER PREPARATION

Dear Home Owner,

We are about to get hit with some pretty cold weather and would like you to please refer to the email sent at the end of 2014 in regards to winterizing your Irrigation System.

Draining water out of the irrigation pipes and shutting the system down for the winter is recommended to prevent water from freezing, expanding and cracking PVC piping or from damaging any part of your system when the temperatures start to dip. Irrigation system winterization is not provided by the Association and is the Single Family Homeowner’s responsibility.

Shut off Water Supply:

  • Single Family Homes with an Isolation / Gate / Ball Valve installed should be able to isolate their irrigation system from the pressurized water main line by closing the isolation valve, as professionally recommended for your type of system. This will not necessarily drain the system, but will shut off the water supply to the system.

You can also contact Preferred Land Care at 910-754-8393 if you would like to have your system shutoff and winterized professionally, their service charge is $50.00 for this service.

Villa Townhomes: The Townhomes have a Common Irrigation System with several units connected. Therefore, winterization of these Common Irrigation Systems is included as part of the dues that Townhome owner’s pay and is a service provided by the Association for Townhome owners. The Association asks that Townhome Owners do not make any irrigation adjustments. Townhomes Owners are asked to contact Premier Management Company with irrigation maintenance requests at (910) 679-3012, maintenance@PremierManagementNC.com.
